Short Biography

Vangelis Floros, is working as  Project Manager in GRNET, Athens, Greece. Vangelis holds a B.Sc. and a M.Sc. in Informatics from the University of Athens, Greece. He has extensive experience in High Performance Computing, distributed systems and grid computing technologies, having participated in a large number of relevant European Projects, including CrossGrid, DILIGENT, D4Science and all the series of EGEE projects. 

In EGEE he acted as a deputy manager of the User Community Expansion and Support activity, chairing for many years the scientific program committee of the EGEE User Forum series of events.

Currently he is involved in StratusLab project where he leads the cloud operations activity supervising the public IaaS cloud services provided by the project. He is also coordinating the HellasHPC initiative in Greece with the goal to deploy and operate a national supercomputing infrastructure.
