Short Biography


Dr. Markus Pleier was elected to serve on the Board of the Storage Networking Industry Association Europe in 2011.  In industry, after serving as Managing Director of a German IT enterprise, he joined EMC in 2000, at a time when storage networking became a new standard. His responsibilities at that time were very strongly connected with the growth of large SAN infrastructures and focused on the professional services area of EMC in Germany.  More recently he was appointed one of the technical leads for EMC in EMEA in line with its broader strategy. Since 2009 he has led technical presales on a world-wide basis, and was named EMEA CTO in 2010 help customers to transform into private cloud and advise the executive sales management in EMEA in this area.
