The Cloud Interopeability Workshop was held during the first Future Internet Assembly (FIA) of 2012, held in Aalborg on May 10-11 and focused on the evaluation of  the state of uptake of existing interoperability solutions, exposed some of the latest innovations in the field, and identified several gaps in research and developments that should be filled in the future.
The session covered a wide arena of cloud interoperability challenges: at both IaaS and PaaS layers, network level, integration issues pertaining to the Internet of Things initiatives, and finally, the large mosaic of standards groups and their focus, of which SIENA was in the best position to push the message of open standards, direct participation and the setup of more formal interfaces between working groups - several recommended actions of the SIENA Roadmap.
