EGI Director's Newsletter - February 2012
Download this month's EGI Director's newsletter from Steven Newhouse, which this month comes from Taipei where he is attending the International Symposium on Grids & Clouds –ISGC 2012
Within EGI-InSPIRE we have nine partners in the Asia Pacific region who contribute their national resources to support their national science priorities - many of which focus around bioinformatics, environmental and climate change, and disaster management and mitigation issues. We have already had one earthquake this week and of course last year some of Japanese colleagues were unable to attend due to the devastating tsunami and earthquake that hit the region. The integration with real-time sensors and on-demand simulation through distributed resources is not only an interesting use case for research but a potentially life-saving capability in the region.
You can read more about the event and watch short video interviews with the speakers in the GridCast blog.
